Here we are at the beginning of your photographic journey! I’ve included some advice below to help you to choose the right photographer for your wedding day. You should leave this page with a good idea of my style, how the booking process works and what to expect on the day! There is even more info on my FAQ page, and I am only a phone call or email away if you want to talk.
Make sure you LOVE the photography
My style is a blend of documentary and art portrait photography. For most of the day I will be snapping away discreetly, capturing heartfelt moments and little details that make up your unique narrative. The other part is where I will take some artistic portraits. Don’t be scared of this prospect! If you are anything like me you may dread the thought of having your portrait taken. I shoot continuously whilst giving you a bit of direction, catching the moments in between posing for really genuine and honest images. Make sure you CLICK with your Photographer
This is very important! I always insist we either meet in person, or skype/telephone before you book. It is always reassuring to know that everyone is on the same page and we are a good fit. After all, we will be collaborating on one of the most exciting and important days of your lives! During our meeting, I will be able to guide you through your timeline and work out how we can make the most of your photography.
Consider an Adventure Shoot
We won’t be re- creating your proposal, don’t worry! Nor is this a soppy styled shoot. A complimentary shoot is included as part of the ‘Wild Thing’ package, and some of my previous couples have used these images for their save-the-date cards. It’s a great way to make you feel at ease if you are apprehensive about having your photo taken. We will meet at an agreed location, it will be very relaxed and we can have some fun. The shoot can be somewhere close to your heart or I can suggest a setting. But don’t worry if this isn’t for you, it’s not essential.

Have an idea of how your photographer
Works on the day
I shoot pretty much continuously all day (except when you are eating), working as inconspicuously as possible. I don’t like to take center stage, keeping you away from your guests for hours on end painstakingly staging shots. This is your day and you, your family and friends take priority. If you are having some traditional group photos, I prefer to work quickly, usually taking no longer than fifteen minutes depending on how big your family is. This allows for more relaxed images and I can capture more spontaneous moments. I always recommend that we take at least 20 minutes to do some portraits of both of you. This is a great time for you to catch your breath and ensure that you have some photos of just the two of you.
Know the Booking Process
After our meeting, I will send you a contract and an invoice for the deposit which is 20% of the package price. Once I have your deposit, your date will be secured. You can now relax knowing that you have an important aspect of your planning done. I will then send you my special pocket planner which gives you hints and tips about how to make the most of photography on the day, covering the wedding timeline, how to chase the light and some advice on how to help me capture awesome ceremony images. A month before your date I will send you a questionnaire so I can gather the finer details of the day, and will finally request the remaining fee.
