Our creative collaboration

My Approach

This is the part where I share my approach as an intuitive and creative wedding photographer. How I’ll capture the big elements, the little moments and all the beauty that naturally unfolds in between for a spirited, honest and stylish account of your day.

In a nutshell

This is a no go for you

Awkward staged shots that take you away from your people on the wedding day and make you feel cringy in front of the camera.

This is right up your alley

Real, beautiful moments you can feel in the images, as well as some portraits of you looking cool AF

YOU want to FEEL THIS WAY

Unapologetically you, with a bit of added “OMG we look fluffing amazing. ”

Sarah + Naaman

“Danni was such a fun and calming presence on the day”

That is
exactly
what I do

A stylish blend of documentary with artistic compositions, and a pinch of natural and stylish portraits. In addition
to the beautiful photographs I create, I ensure that you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. I’m also a fabulous communicator, from your initial enquiry to when you receive your parcel in the post.

How your day unfolds

01.

1. How I get the good stuff

BEHIND THE SCENES

Getting to know you as a couple is integral to reflecting your relationship and personalities in the heartfelt images that I produce. And so, if our dates match up, we’ll get the ball rolling with an initial meeting or call to discuss you, your plans and creating super beautiful images together.

Should you wish, you can include an adventure shoot as part of your package, giving you a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera while I photograph you somewhere you feel entirely at ease, be it rolling countryside or your favourite city hangout.

Before the big day, we’ll have another call to firm up timings and wishes so I can confidently capture everything that’s important to you.

On the day, I’ll work intuitively and unobtrusively, moving and thinking on my feet to make sure I’m in the right place at the right time (though you’ll barely even notice I’m there). I’ll be creating constantly, looking at things from different angles and seeking out magic always.

02.

What I will Capture

the things that float my boat

I achieve beautiful compositions by letting your day unfold naturally, allowing you and your guests to simply be yourselves.

This means a lot of my frames are candid, in-the-moment images that perfectly set the scene whilst portraying authentic personalities, reactions and emotions. The giddy getting-ready grins and giggles, the tearful aisle walks, first-looks and stuttered vows, the joy-filled interactions, tender exchanges and best man banter, the dancefloor high-kicks, low dips and all-round just-married euphoria!

I’ll also whisk you away for a couple of swift portrait sessions, using my experience to capture stylish shots that’ll make you look amazing without feeling in the least bit awkward.

What I won’t be capturing is anything overly staged or reams of posed, formal group shots. So, if that’s your bag, chances are, I’m not.

What it will Look like

the goods

Aesthetically, I have a blended style of documentary and portraiture photography. This means my images will showcase the amazing people, setting and details of your day, along with the realness and quirks of your relationship to build a full, immersive story.

As well as wall-space-worthy, editorial-style portraits, you’ll also find gentle glimpses and fleeting snippets of the day within your image edit, highlighting moments you might have missed altogether or simply not appreciated the true beauty of at the time.

Other qualities of my work I’m often complimented on include my emphasis on bold colour but, equally, my ability to produce timeless black and white images, plus my stirring use of natural light (sunsets and moody skies are 100% my thing!).

04.

How it will make you feel

This is as important as the photos

Your experience, both on the day and when looking back at your wedding album, is super important to me.

You can expect the photographic journey to be easy, laidback, fun and not at all try hard. The image-viewing aspect, meanwhile, will be captivating, moving and honest.

I want you to be able to feel that gust of wind captured in a veil, hear the laughter of the flower girls playing and appreciate the tenderness of that timely planted kiss. I also really want to make you cry. I’m a weirdo like that.

Danni is the absolute dream. Fun, kind, professional and THE most talented photographer. We couldn’t have wished for better images from our wedding day. All our guests commented on how brilliant she was, capturing all those lovely candid moments as well as the showstopper shots we’ll treasure forever. Danni pulled out all the stops to plot the sun and chase the sunset as well as helping out when we needed an extra pair of hands. I honestly can’t recommend her enough. A sweet baby angel all round 😉

I just wanted to say a big thanks for being so considerate and easy to work with. It was a pleasure to meet and hang out with you. You made a very nervous ( and often very reserved) guy feel very at ease and you were friendly and approachable 🙂

Thank you so much. They are absolutely wonderful. You have perfectly captured just how dreamlike everything felt. We are both so happy with them. I feel like I want to soak up all this imagery forever!

I loved spending time with you on the day by the way, your’e such a good egg.

AWARDS.

Other people who aren’t my mum also like me.

I could stick a load of cool badges here but these are the ones that are really important to me.

Rangefinder Rising Stars Nominee.

Very proud of this one.

“She felt like a guest on our day, blending in but armed with her superpower of finding all of the the light and gorgeous angles.”

2. If I’m available for your date, I’ll
send over some options so we can have a Zoom or an in-person meeting to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit.

3. After our meeting, I’ll send you a quote and contract via your new online client portal. Once you’ve accepted the quote, signed the contract, and paid the 20% booking fee, you’re officially booked!

4.  I’ll post out your personal pocket planner, which gives you my expert advice on how to make the most of your wedding photography. Then, a month before your date, I’ll send the
remaining invoice and a questionnaire to get all the timings for the day. Finally, two weeks before the date, we’ll book a timeline planning call to ensure that I capture all that’s important to you whilst creating as many epic photo opportunities as possible

Ask Me Anything

This depends on the time of year and which day the wedding is on. Contact me with your details and we can chat about a bespoke package.

It usually takes up to 6 – 8 weeks for me to hand edit all the content from your wedding. I will then post out a little package with your USB drive, your private web gallery, and some other goodies.

Yes they can! I create an online gallery for you and your guests that is password protected. They will be able to
view and download images from the gallery or order high quality copies of individual pictures from myself.

I will send you a USB with all of the edited images. These will be high resolution with no watermarks so you will be able to print copies yourselves if you wish. You also have the option to order prints via your gallery.

This will depend on a few things such as how many hours of coverage you have or how many guests are at your
wedding. From a 5 hour shoot you can expect between 200 – 300 images. Longer appointments generate more pictures, and a full day could be represented by 500 up to 800 images.

I do, indeed! I call them Adventure Shoots as we do a bit of exploring. This is a good option if you would like a bit of practice in front of the camera or if you are making save-the-date cards with your lovely faces on them! A shoot costs £200 for up to two hours.

I would describe my style as ‘blended’ with documentary and elements of fine art portraiture.

For the most part, I shoot discreetly, mindful of the unique lighting and compositional aspects of your day. For portraits and group shots, I’m comfortable and skilled at giving direction, even to large numbers, to achieve beautiful pictures that capture the different personalities and emotions of your friends and family. I always snap away between poses, too, as unposed shots are often people’s favourites.

Of course, and I insist. Choosing the right photographer is an important aspect of your
planning, so it’s essential that we all feel that we’re a good fit. Once I have sent over my
wedding guide, and you have a package in mind, we can meet in person or over Zoom to get to know each other.

It’s not a dealbreaker, but I very much appreciate a hot meal when shooting for 8 to 10 hours. I tend to eat at the same time as your guests, as nobody wants a photo snapping of
them when they’re mid-mouthful. Plus, it means I can be ready and raring to capture the next part of the wedding (e.g. speeches/evening reception). Therefore, it’s worth asking your caterers to provide food for me at the same time you’ll be dining so we remain in sync with one another.
