Cool Inspiration For An Inner City Wedding

Some lovely visual inspiration for your inner city, urban wedding. If you are getting married in Sheffield, there is a plethora of backdrops for you to look cool in front of!

When Tracy at Campbells Flowers approached me to do a collaboration with her, I jumped at the chance. She is a total expert in her field, and I know she would style an amazing shoot. The concept was to bring wild flowers to an urban setting, and to soften and compliment some of the gritty graffitied walls of the city. We didn’t shoot exclusively in the city streets, and popped into the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield which has a glass pavilion open to the public. If you are getting married in the city, and need a green backdrop or you need to shelter from the elements, this is the perfect location to shoot portraits. When I am shooting a wedding I often suggest a little pit stop for some quick portraits, especially if you are looking for some variety in your shots. You can see some more of my wedding photography here.

One aspect of the shoot that I LOVED is how Tracey integrated her pieces with the environment. The gorgeous and feminine silk ribbons on the bouquets compliment bold and bright painted walls. We also found some buddleia growing out of a wall ( near a chippy) And her foliage entwined hoop blended in with with the surroundings, and reminds me of the famous Jurassic Park quote “Life finds a way” !

I hope you can take away some inspiration for your wedding, a big thanks to the whole team:
