Barn Weddings in Yorkshire: The Ultimate Guide

Popular Barn Weddings in Yorkshire

As a wedding photographer based in Sheffield, it is no surprise that I have seen a few Barn Weddings in Yorkshire or two! In this blog, I will share images I have taken of some of my favorite Barn Weddings along with my take on each venue to help you with some inspiration when planning your own wedding. 1. Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey

This 16th Century Wedding Barn in North Yorkshire is absolutely breathtaking. It has views over the Bolton Abbey Ruins and underfloor heating if you are a ‘nesh’ Yorkshire person !

The Vibe: Luxurious, Spacious

Photo ops: The interior of the barn is pretty breathtaking, otherwise, a stroll around the Abbey at sunset is a must

2. Deer Shelter, Canon Hall, Barnsley

If rustic is your name, then the Deer Shelter at Cannon Hall is your game. Is it a barn? I’d say it is pretty close! This grade II listed building is licenced for ceremonies and is suitable for a smaller gathering. They have other venue options available and grounds for a tipi if you wanted to have the reception there too.

The Vibe: Intimate, Rustic

3. Granary on the Common, Swinefleet, Goole

I love love LOVE this beautiful venue. This grade II listed barn is situated on a working family farm. You have the option of having a celebrant lead the ceremony on the garden lawn, or if the weather isn’t up to scratch, pop into the barn. I absolutely LOVE the directional natural light that is created in the barn. ,4. East Riddlesden Hall, Riddelsden, Keighley

If you are on the hunt for barn Weddings in Yorkshire, then this is as barney as it gets!
The converted Airedale barn is nestled between romantic gardens and a beautiful pond.
With a capacity of 250 and a wedding license you can host the whole shindig here.

The Vibe: Romantic, rustic with modern touches

5. Whirlow Hall Farm, Sheffield

The lambing barn can hold up to a whopping 300 guests. Set on a 16th century farm,with Jacobean buildings that date back to the 18th it has plenty of beautiful spots for portraits. It’s a huge space making it perfect for BBQs and hog roasts, and you can set up a bar on the day too. If you are lucky you can also go for a wonder and stumble upon some piglets as it’s a working farm.

The Vibe: Big Party Vibes

Photo ops: There is a nearby vineyard, gardens and a tree lined lane nearby

Bonus : Its ruddy massive, 15 minute drive to Sheffield city centre

6. The Normans, Bilbrough, York

The Normans hire fee includes use of the entire venue which includes the Ceremony Barn, Courtyard, Grain Shed, Tack Room Bar, and Cow Stalls The 18th century threshing barn is fully licensed to hold ceremonies that seats up to 140 guests. Although there are rustic elements to the venue, there is a super modern courtyard Designed by London-based architects Mosley & Mann.

7. Stepney Hill Farm, Scarborough

The Farm overlooks the spa town of Scarborough and is nestled in a valley surrounded by wildflower paddocks. This barn is a big space that can hold 200 guests. You have the option of holding a ceremony outside, but there is space to hold it inside if the weather isn’t playing.

The Vibe: Rustic, Party Vibes

8. East Yorkshire Barns, Faxfleet, Goole

The historic listed Barns are set beside Trent Falls, surrounded by countryside and next to a nature reserve. This will give you PLENTY of amazing photo opportunities. The 18th century brick barn is licensed for the ceremony and you can then shimmy over to the wooden barn for the reception. This is a really lovely Wife and Husband run venue.
