Grangefields, the newest Cripps Barn Venue in Derbyshire
Grangefields was on my bucket list as soon as I saw it pop up in August 2021. It is a new barn wedding venue owned by Cripps & Co, who have some of the most beautiful venues across the country. When Sam and Jo asked me to shoot their wedding, I was trying to play it cool, but no. I WAS FAR TOO EXCITED!
I was totally blown away by the delicate florals created by Poppy Scout. They worked so well against the beautifully restored architecture of the Barn (With dahlias to die for!) In addition to this, Sam and Jo pulled together some brilliant suppliers for their wedding at Grangefields and curated a stunning aesthetic.

Grangefields stands as an exclusive wedding venue within the historic Trusley Estate in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
From a photography perspective, WOW.
There is so much drama in the ceremony room, and tonnes of beautiful directional light from the glass wall during in the dining room. You can see more barn weddings on my blog here.
The feast in the dining room was incredible. Cripps and Co always know how to feed your guests, and their photographers 😉 After the speeches there was some mingling time, and we managed a twilight sparkler exit. The fire pits in the courtyard are very useful when trying to get everyone lit at the same time.
Naturally, there is an abundance of space in the courtyard Sam and Jo got a silver airstream photobooth by Belle Studio which looks very impressive and cool and a huge hit with their guests.
There is an abundance of amazing spots for portraits; The Barn, the courtyard and the surrounding fields. Grangefields is tucked away off a long track so you have uninterrupted views around the venue, and if you are lucky to have a clear sky (unfortunately we didn’t have this!) You will be able to get a stunning golden hour across the fields.
